I had a birthday this week. It was a big one. B-I-G. I did only little things for it. I went swimming with my 6 and 8-year-old because that is what they wanted to do with mom. We got pizza for dinner and a doughnut for dessert. We spent the night at a local hotel and snuggled together in one big bed, despite there being a bunk for the kids. The little moments with my kids as they are growing seem much more important the bigger the years get. Last year after my birthday I started a #bookstagram account as a hobby because I wanted to take some time each day of focused stress relief. Books have always brought me joy and comfort and spending 30 minutes a day focusing my energy on bookish things and interacting with fellow booknerds relaxes me.
Of course, every birthday comes with a Wish List, right? Here are all the books I’d love to have line my bookshelves…. Of the ones listed, I have the following on order as my birthday gift to myself….
Queen of Air and Darkness, by Cassandra Clare (signed & personalized)
Kingdom of Ash, by Sarah J Maas
Wildcard, by Marie Lu (signed & personalized)
Escaping from Houdini, by Kerri Maniscalco
Muse of Nightmares, by Laini Taylor (signed with foil edges)
Vicious, by Victoria E. Schwab (signed)
Vengeful, by Victoria E. Schwab (signed)
Yes, yes, Happy, Happy birthday to me! The beauty of turning 40 is you get to choose all of your own birthday presents! =)
